Print Policy

Use of the copier and printer
The library offers access to a printer and copier for patron convenience. The library
reserves the right to limit patron use of the photocopier and printer. Large volume
copying and printing (over 50 pages) is not allowed. Patrons who need to make
large print runs will be referred to a professional copy center. The library does not
offer the public copies on colored paper or specialty paper, nor may labels or other
materials from home be used in our copiers.

Patrons are responsible for copy mistakes or bad copies, unless the bad copy is
caused by a mechanical problem and a staff member has been notified before
multiple copies are made. (Please make a test copy before making multiple copies
of an item.) Staff members may be available to assist in making copies or to show
patrons how to use the copy machine correctly if they are not busy with other
duties. Bad copies made by staff members while helping a patron will not incur a
charge.

Copying is done on the honor system. Payment must be made before the patron
leaves the library. Fees for the copier/printer are established by the Library Board
and are reviewed annually. Fees are posted beside the copier. Printing will be free
for school projects (grades K-12).

Please ask staff to help with adding paper, paper jams, and other problems.
Patrons are not allowed to add paper themselves or to access inner workings of
the copier.

Copy machine and public access computer users are subject to the provisions of
copyright law. The responsibility for determining any copyright restrictions and for
obtaining all necessary permissions rests with the person making or requesting
photocopies or printouts. Further information about copyright law may be found at
the U.S. Copyright Office’s website.
