Children’s Programming Assistant
The Children’s Programming Assistant supports the Children’s room and children’s librarian by creating and implementing various children’s programs and children’s outreach activities. This position requires time on the service desk each day providing high quality patron services including circulating materials, assisting patrons with finding items, computer support and more.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- As part of a team, plan and implement programs and events for children, teens, and families.
- Perform outreach with local schools, daycares, and other youth-based organizations.
- Assist with book displays and promotional materials.
- Work at the service desk part of each day providing circulation, reference, reader’s advisory, and computer use assistance to library patrons.
- Other duties as assigned
Prior youth services experience preferred- library, school, childcare. Proficiency with computers required, including Microsoft Office Suite products and internet searching.
Part time position- 15-20 hours a week. Includes evenings and rotating Saturdays. Paid vacation and holidays. Background check required.
Starting wage $15/hour.
